The History of Brick Mercury

National Museum of Archaeology of the Sea of Caorle (Venice)

On July the 27th, 2018 the National Museum of Archaeology of the Sea of Caorle (Venice) opened a new section, dedicated to the history of brick Mercury, a warship, built in the Napoleonic era and sold by the French to the Italian fleet. The vessel was blown up on February 22, 1812, hit during the battle of Grado, fought by the Italian-French against the British.

The visit is immersive and “experiential”, suitable for different audiences. the new section has now interactive devices and touch screens that allow visitors to explore the reconstruction of the Mercury.
Tooteko has produced many of the multimedia assets, expanding the range of products for the museum market and is now able to offer a 360° service, ranging from design and installation to custom-made high-tech multimedia content.
The multimedia project is curated by Cristina Barbiani, Director of the Master in Digital Exhibit, in collaboration with the Photogrammetry lab CIRCE, the Master in Digital Architecture IUAV of Venice and the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice.
