Art For The Blind

Ara Pacis Museum - Rome

Art For The Blind

The Art for the Blind project was inaugurated in Rome, Italy, in March 2017 at the Ara Pacis Museum, a 2,000+ years old historical ancient Roman monument, dedicated to Emperor Augustus, in honor of his return.
“Art for the Blind” is a unique experimental project, where visually impaired visitors can access the extraordinary heritage of the museum and ‘get in touch’ with the mythical past of the city of Rome.

Thanks to Tooteko, the busts of the royal family each tell their story in first person, evoked by tactile exploration trough the ring; and the
model of the altar unveils its narratives figure after figure, each tactile explorer proceeding at their own pace.
Made in partnership with Antenna International.
